Vitality to launch new feature for corporate clients
Vitality has announced that this year, it will introduce a new digital tool to provide greater support to corporate clients. Built using scientific behavioural insight, it will support businesses in driving collective activity and increasing productivity.
Earlier this year Vitality published data in its most recent Britain’s Healthiest Workplace report that found, 63% of employees want their employer to do more to support their health* and the new feature, called Employee Challenges, will give businesses the tools to provide this support. This same report found that lost productivity in the UK has more than doubled from 23 days in 2014 to around 50 in 2022 and 2023. It revealed that physical inactivity plays a big role in this, with physically inactive employees losing 28% more productive time than those who regularly exercise.
Built with a seamless digital experience which leverages Vitality’s expertise in incentives and behavioural changes, the Employee Challenges are designed to empower employers to build a healthier and more productive business. Any business that offers Vitality Health Insurance will be easily able to set up and manage all of this and more through Employer Zone, a new platform which will launch in advance of the Employee Challenges.
Employer Zone has been designed to help businesses to quickly view and edit employee details as well as add new members seamlessly regardless of underwriting type. It includes extra features such as insights on employee health and engagement; the ability to edit members’ and dependents’ details or cover; and add and remove members, without the need to call Vitality or their adviser.
Pippa Andrews, Director of Corporate Business at Vitality Health said “We’re excited to announce the next evolution of how we’re supporting employers to build healthier businesses with Vitality – Employee Challenges.
“These activity challenges promote healthier behaviours amongst their employees. We’ve developed these to be fully digital – delivered through the Vitality Member App – which will bring a gamified and social approach to the workplace experience of Vitality.”
Employee Challenges has already been successfully piloted internally, with Vitality employees who participated recording a 12% increase in their average step count compared to the same period the previous year**.
By enabling businesses to take part in similar initiatives, Vitality is empowering companies to super-charge engagement and promote healthy behaviour among employees, whatever their starting state of health or level of engagement with Vitality.
