Netball legend Tracey Neville nets role as Vitality Ambassador

Vitality, the innovative health and life insurance and investments company has today announced a new partnership with former England Netball Head Coach, Tracey Neville, who takes up a role as Ambassador. Tracey joins current Vitality Ambassadors Dame Jessica Ennis-Hill, Heather Knight, Ellie Simmonds, Jos Buttler, Maro Itoje, Joe Root and Jonny Wilkinson.

Tracey, who led England’s Vitality Roses to victory at the 2018 Commonwealth Games and to secure Bronze at this year’s Vitality Netball World Cup, will now use her passion for healthy living and team sports to inspire people to get active and make positive changes to their health.

Vitality research shows improvements to activity levels can make a positive difference to people’s long-term health and through the extra nudge of incentives and rewards they can be encouraged to make healthy choices every day.

Tracey has worked closely with Vitality throughout its partnership with England Netball, including as the title sponsor of this year’s Vitality Netball World Cup. In June, Tracey also helped to announce Vitality’s #WeAreRising campaign in celebration of the Vitality Netball World Cup, where the company has committed to provide funding for 114 aspiring netball coaches to obtain a UKCC Level 1 Assistant Qualification Coaching Certificate through England Netball.

In her new role as an Ambassador, Tracey will continue to help build a legacy and support grassroots sports across the UK, while also offering motivation and practical advice to help people adopt healthier lifestyle habits over the long term.

Commenting on her new role as an Ambassador, Tracey said: “I’m really excited to be joining Vitality as an Ambassador. Grassroots sports has the power to change people’s lives, and is the pathway to elite sport many of our greatest athletes have started from. Vitality shares my passion for driving grassroots sports participation and I can’t wait to work with them on finding new and exciting ways to inspire people to be more active.”

Chrissy Fice, Brand Director at Vitality, added: “We are delighted to bring Tracey into the Vitality family as an Ambassador. Since the Vitality Netball World Cup 2019, participation in netball has increased exponentially, with 160,000 more women taking part in the sport. Tracey has played a huge role in driving this growth and we want to build on this momentum as we work together to encourage people to get more active.”
